Did you know that today is National Plan Your Vacation Day? I didn’t know until a couple of weeks ago. But it’s a great reminder on the calendar to start thinking about how you will use your PTO, Sick Time or unpaid time to get some much-needed rest and relaxation for you and your family.

This year the focus should be on our health and making sure we’re operating at our best. It’s kind of hard to do that if we don’t take time to relieve our stress.
Some of us have lots of hurdles to taking time off in America. But if you work for a good employer or are part of a company culture that embraces time off for wellness, take advantage!
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some great travel opportunities and deals to help you plan this year. Because we all know 1 day may not be enough for most of us. Many of us will need to narrow down our choices, get the budgets situated and make sure we can have the time off we need.
These are not the faces that I want to see you all having this year. So let’s get those days planned early!
I’m going to share a variety of trips and travel deals in the following categories. If you can think of a category you’d like me to share besides these, please let me know in the comments.
- Family Vacations
- Girls Trips
- Romantic Getaways
- Staycations
- Solo Refresh and Recharge
In the meantime, here’s a helpful vacation planning tool from the U.S. Travel Association, to help you map out what to do with your earned hours. https://www.ustravel.org/vacation-planning-tool
Plan for Vacation Day is part of U.S. Travel Association’s Project Time: Off, an effort to help Americans use their paid vacation days since, according to their industry research, more than half of American workers leave 705 million paid vacation days on the table.
Do you already have your vacation time planned for the year? Do you feel that you get enough or take enough time off?
