With the nice change of weather comes lots of great weekend activities to get into. There’s always something interesting going on in the city, so I decided to put together a list of 10 Nashville festivals and events going down this month, that will help you shake off the work week and have some fun.

Nashville Festivals May 1st – 6th, 2018
Tennessee Renaissance Festival
It’s time for the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, every weekend starting May 5th – 28th, 2018. There are castle & garden tours, free kids activities, royal joust, fairies, birds of prey, Robin Hood, Daniel “Duke of Danger”, Oops! comedy knife throwing show, comedy & variety shows, queen’s knighting ceremony and more. Parking is free. Kids 5 and under are free. Be sure to bring cash for rides, drinks, food, souvenirs and games.

Nashville Film FestivalÂ

Come out and celebrate the 49th year of the Nashville film festival. Each year is always more than just a film fest. Besides all of the great films and shorts, there will be panels and workshops, a creators conference and the music city – music in film competition.Â

Iroquois Steeplechase – Percy Warner Park
The best riders and horses in the world will race at this year’s 77th annual Steeplechase on May 12, 2018. There will be tailgating, skybox seats, hillside tents, railside tents, champions corner and the coveted hunt club where guests will get tented seating and gourmet food & drinks, as well as live music. Come on out in your southern best and fancy hat for a day at the race!
Eat, Drink & Paint
The Connoisseur presents a tribute to Jill Scott, May 12th, 2018. Painters of all experiences can come out and experience live music and poetry while eating, drinking and painting a masterpiece of Jill Scott on canvas.

Mother’s Day at City Tap

Carnival Nashville
The inaugural Nashville Carnival will be held at Cumberland Park in downtown Nashville on Saturday May 19, 2018. Experience the tropics and gorgeous costumes from the Caribbean, South/Latin America and around the world. Nashville Rosé Festival
May 19th, 2018. 21+ no kids or pets allowed. Taste over 70+ Rosé wines, specialty beers and cocktails. While you’re there, check out live music. Local and celebrity chefs will be doing live fire pit cooking demonstrations and offering free samples for guests. 100% of proceeds to benefit the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition.
May 21st – 28th, 2018
Martin ArtQuest – Frist Museum
May 24th, 2018. It’s the grand re-opening of the Martin ArtQuest exhibit at Frist. There will be a member’s only ribbon cutting and preview from 11a.m. to 3p. It opens to the general public at 3pm and all gallery admissions are free for the rest of the day.
East Nashville Crawfish Bash
On May 26th, Rain or shine, come out to get your eat on at the 4th East Nashville Crawfish Bash, held at East Park.
