Today I’m bringing you inside my favorite room in our apartment to show you my bedroom refresh! I’m sure for many of you the master bedroom is your favorite spot too.
So, if you’ve been feeling like it could use a little bit of an upgrade, let me inspire you with some easy and budget-friendly changes.
I’ve been keeping myself busy with little projects around the house, including this bedroom refresh!
One has been taking on the task of mounting our bedroom TV to the wall so we (well…I) can have a better viewing experience. Plus, I’d like to free up some space in my room where the TV Stand currently is. I’d like to use that area for the future home of my growing houseplant community.
I’m sure my hubby will be thrilled lol. But that spot has the BEST sunlight and my plants are thriving like crazy in my room.
The other project, that I will be sharing with you shortly, is a DIY refresh of my wall mirror. I’ll be upgrading it from a plain wood frame into a new metallic textured frame, using some good ole’ spray paint and a Pinterest tutorial.
But let’s get to this bedroom!
Bedroom Refresh
Since I spend so much time in here I really wanted to make things a bit more comfortable and uniform. I didn’t make any drastic changes this time. But I feel like these 3 minor additions have really changed the personality of my room.
A Pop of Color
I really felt like my room could use a new pop of color. Although I’ve been doing this a bit by adding in houseplants for greenery. I decided to hop over to Wayfair for a new throw.
Isn’t it pretty!? It’s so warm too. Whether I’m sitting on my bed to write or watch a movie, this tweed throw keeps me super comfy.
Tip: Use inspiration from the existing items in your room to add the perfect accent colors. Or, get a little inspiration from color wheels & mood boards found on Pinterest!
New Side Tables
For the past couple of years, we’ve had side tables on both sides of our bed that never matched. One was Black, and the other Brown. The brown table was a hand-me-down from my MIL that sat on my hubby’s side of the bed.
It was a really nice table but it was way too short for our bed which sits a cool 30″ high. It was also a little heavy because it was made of wrought iron and wood.

My side table was one that I bought from a lady on Facebook Marketplace for $30. The table is gorgeous, so its being repurposed and moved to my daughter’s room where it will get new pink crystal drawer handles and maybe a white paint makeover.
These are my new side tables from Wayfair.
I upgraded to these perfectly sized double drawer tables and replaced the default brushed silver knobs with 4 crystal knobs from my old side table. I think they look so much better and they give these a more luxe look.
Each table took about 30 minutes to put together and the instructions were very straight-forward. I love how my wardrobe unit, accent cabinet, and tables all match now. My room feels so much brighter!

Shoe Storage
Most of my shoes are stored in bins underneath my bed. But for the ones I’d like to use more often, they deserve a space of their own. I found this really cute and functional shoe rack on Wayfair.com
It has comfy seating for putting on your shoes and can hold up to 10 pairs at a time. This was also pretty simple to put together. It took me no more than 20 minutes.
Tip: here’s a short list of items that can easily refresh your bedroom!
- A duvet cover or new bedding
- Pillows
- Headboard
- Window treatments
- A new bed frame
