But for those of you that have found comfort with your natural nails, whether it’s a newfound love or not, I’m sharing some simple manicure tips to help you maintain your natural nails at home. No need for that salon trip.
Caring For Natural Nails Without The Salon
Some of the most common issues I hear about from women who love rocking their natural nails are that they often experience problems like splitting, peeling, or brittleness. I understand the frustration. I’ve had some of those same issues. For sure, these can make caring for your natural nails a daunting task.
But, I hope the information you receive in this post today will help to eliminate those problems for you.

If you don’t take away anything else from this post, please remember this. Start taking a good daily multivitamin and drink lots of water!
I can’t stress this enough. A good multivitamin will do your body wonders and those beautiful benefits will then flow to your hair, skin, and nails.

My Basic Manicure Tips
💅🏾Always start with freshly washed hands to remove dirt and oils.
💅🏾Clip and file each nail as needed.
💅🏾Make sure your nails are filed then buffed smooth on the surface AND along all edges.
💅🏾Always use a base coat. This helps with the finish and makes deeply pigmented color removal quicker. It especially helps protect the surface of your nails when wearing textured polishes.
💅🏾Apply polish in long even strokes from bed to tip.
💅🏾Use a clear top coat to seal in your color or to add a little shine. Remember to apply top coat along your tips and underside of your natural nails. This protects them from excess moisture, especially if you wash dishes regularly. Or, because of COVID, it protects them from the abuse of handwashing sessions.
💅🏾Dry time with ice water dips, running your fingertips under cold water, or use a spray nail enamel dryer to speed up the process.

It’s time to get those mani’s in order ladies. Here’s to long and strong natural nails! As always, if you have any questions or comments feel free to share them in the comment section! Stay strong ya’ll!
