If It’s Not 30 Minutes Or Less I’m Not Cooking

If a meal requires an excessive amount of ingredients or can’t be made in 30 minutes or less, I’m probably not touching it.  My crazy schedule won’t allow it and at the end of a long day, I really don’t have the bandwidth for a laundry list recipe.

Quick and simple meal ideas are the way to go for me.

I already don’t like the notion of having to cook most days of the week. I haven’t reached my goal of being a millionaire yet. So, our budget won’t allow us to eat out every night and be bougie.

That also means my private chef hasn’t come into my life yet to start making all of my favorites. So, for now, it’s all on me ya’ll.

Dinner In 30 Minutes Or Less

While I’m waiting on my dreams to come true I guess I’ll stick to slaving away in the kitchen.  Did she just say that? Yes, she did.

Did I mean it? No, not really. I actually like to cook but since I don’t have the luxury of time this season, dinner is on my own terms.

Recently,  I started compiling a new list of meals I could make in 30 minutes or less.  I did this taking into account everyone’s pickiness and food aversions in the house so I can eliminate the frustration of finding something for everyone.

Having a list helps me to not have to waste time trying to come up with meal ideas.  It also makes my weekly meal planning & grocery shopping tasks run a lot smoother. I just add everything to my grocery pick up cart as I plan and prepay to pick up my groceries each weekend.

My Favorite Quick Meal Options

My goal is to start blogging more about the meals I’ve been making. Not only to give you some ideas on how to feed your family when your schedule is crazy busy. But also to take a lot of the guesswork out of dinner each week. Because I know exactly how that is.

The yummy photos in this post are all items that are currently in rotation in my kitchen, for weeknight meals.

I still fill in with simpler things like good ole chicken nuggets and fish sticks whenever I feel like the kids won’t dig what I’m cooking.

Looking For A Few Healthier/Lighter Options Too

My next plan is to figure out a few lighter/healthier options to rotate in that everyone will eat. So, if you have a favorite light meal idea shoot me a suggestion.  I may try it out!

Look out for these new recipes starting this weekend. I’m thinking of posting a new one each week so you’ll have time to plan and add it to your grocery lists. Which one of these should I start with first and what day do you think I should post them?  Leave me a comment!
