For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been testing the new Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lip Paints by L’Oreal Paris. I received 3 new colors to try courtesy of my free Rouge Signature VoxBox from Influenster.

L'Oreal Paris Rouge Signature Liquid Matte Lipstick Review | Naturally Stellar

Rouge Signature Liquid Matte lippys come in 12 shades. The lip stains are all vividly pigmented with good lasting power. The formula is super lightweight. So the color glides on really smooth and even. It dries quickly and still manages to leave your lips feeling supple.

Lining Your Lips With Liquids

Because it’s a liquid it’s really important to line your lips before applying the color all over. One of the things that L’Oreal Paris has done to make this simple is to include a cleverly designed applicator that lets you line and cover your lips. You just use the pointed tip to precisely line and then the flat side to apply your color.

My Experience Using Rouge Signature

I did not apply any lip primer before putting these on.

Although they are supposed to have 24-hour lasting wear, I found that I was able to wear each color for up to 8 hours before noticing any kind of fading. I really put these colors to the test. So, any fading was due to heavy drinking (tea ya’ll…I’m not an alcoholic lol) and kissing my kids throughout the day.

I did notice a bit of transfer with these. So you will still see some color on the rim of your glass or when you give someone a kiss. But not nearly as much as you would get with your regular lipsticks.

I actually like these better than my other lip stain products.  I’ve tried liquid pens and squeezable tubes, but none of the other formulas held up as well as these.  While the Rouge Signature didn’t last as long as they’re advertised to do, they still outlasted my other products. My lips never felt dry and I only remember reapplying one day while I was out morning until late at night.

I’ll be buying a few more colors. I have my eye on “I Rebel” (bright purple) and “I Represent” (fushia).

What I’m Wearing

Beauty Tip: As with any lip products it’s always best to prep your lips before putting on your makeup.   With matte products, any lip dryness you have will be even more visible.  So make sure you give them a nice scrub and apply a good balm.

I’m Worth It

This is a classic deep red that would probably look great on just about any complexion.  It is my favorite of the 3 and I find myself wearing it quite often. What I love about this one is the brightness of the red and how my lips still feel moisturized after hours of wear. I’m a sucker for a good matte lippy and this one does not disappoint!

The next 2 colors looked so similar on my lips that I decided to swatch them and break down the difference in color. For those of you that are really into detail when it comes to your color matching. Let me further explain.

I Create

This is more of a deep mauve taupe color straight out of the bottle. In this one, the purple is more noticeable. I do prefer this shade over I Rule because I still get color without it making my lips look washed out.

I Rule

I describe this color as light mauve brown. It looks similar to I Create but the brown is more powerful in this liquid.  So it comes off as a nice neutral shade for medium skin tones.  I like it paired with a nude face.
