Pin61Share4TweetShare1Email66 SharesSo let me tell you about how my daughter gets a free book every month. One day I was visiting our local library and upon checkout I saw a flyer for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, on the counter. I took the flyer home, read through it and immediately went online to register my daughter to start receiving free books. At the time, I had no idea that there were free book programs out there that we qualified for. I was fine thinking we’d get a free one each time we visited our pediatrician lol. But thank goodness for Dolly Parton coming through with an awesome literacy program. What Is Imagination Library?Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a literacy/book gifting program that sends books to kids ages birth to 5 years old. It’s open to communities across the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia. When Can I Expect Free Books? It took a while for the books to start coming. I registered late last spring and books started coming to our mailbox a few months later. She gets 1 brand new paper back book every month. They’re really good books too and age appropriate! Just to give you an idea of what you can expect to receive from the Imagination Library, here are some of the free books we received. Overdrive and Hoopla are great places to get free digital books. It’s just like borrowing from the library. You get to read the books free for a specified amount of time or you can only borrow a certain amount per month.I find that when I stay on top of adding books to my son’s tablet or phone, he’ll read a good book over playing a video game. But there are other free digital book sites where you can basically read without limitations.
