So today’s beauty feature is all about the hair.  I’m talking New York Fashion Week hair! I’m sure you’ve seen some great media coverage about the fashion & style but I want to take you behind the scenes of the Degen Show, to give you a glimpse of one of the talented artists backstage making those models look fierce & fabulous.

Monae Everett NYFW Hair Stylist

Meet Monae Everett.  This highly talented & creative beauty expert/celebrity stylist and fellow blogger has worked with some of the best in the entertainment, fashion & music industries.  If names like Connie Britton, Venus & Serena Williams, Larry King, Chris Rock, Gladys Knight, Letoya Luckett and Madeleine Albright don’t move you, then how about The Today Show, Project Runway, Diddy’s – Dirty Money “Last Train to Paris” Album Cover or the countless magazines her work has been in?

She is a force to be reckoned with people and I’m so glad to be able to share an inside view with you of the skill and hard work she puts in, and the awesome beauty creations that are born.

So let’s get to the Degen Show Hair!

Check Out The Looks

According to Monae, the hair looks for the Degen show were all about matte texture and individuality through the use of twists, faux locs, and cornrows. The foundation for all of the styles was the Schwarzkopf Grip Volume mousse and Dust It.  All styles were finished off with the Schwarzkopf Freeze Spray.

Look 1: All Locked Up

I like look 5 the most, but I also like how some of the others look like dreads with out the hard work of growing and forming beautiful dreads.

#5 looks gorgeous! (Sort of an “if Elsa had short hair” look.)
