Once again, In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month & in support of the#PolishUsPink campaign , this week’s Moody Manicure is solely dedicated to all of the phenomenal Breast Cancer Survivor’s, those currently struggling with it and to those that may have lost their battle to this terrible disease.

So have you checked your breasts lately?  If not, now is a great time to do your self check exam or to simply schedule a mammogram.  Please take this as a reminder to take care of yourself & do whatever you can to help prevent this disease from harming another family.

Did you know that men are at risk too?  According to U.S. Breast Cancer Statistics in 2011, ” About 2,140 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in men in 2011. A man’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 1,000″.

For more information about Breast Cancer & how you can help support the cause please check out some of the cancer resources at the end of this post.

For this week’s mani I wanted to try something new. This is my first true experience with the Taping Method.  It wasn’t hard to do, but I can see now that it does take a lot a lot of patience and good technique to keep your lines sharp.  While I’m not thrilled with my mani this time,  I do think the flaws give it a little more character.  This time, I stepped up my game and did a different design on each hand.

Local North Carolina Resources

I’d like to highlight a really great local organization that I came across recently. The Pretty In Pink Foundation of North Carolina. There headquarter’s is in Raleigh.

Pretty In Pink Foundation’s mission is to provide financial assistance to uninsured and underinsured breast cancer patients with quality, life-saving medical treatment regardless of their ability to pay.  And they have such a great vision: “to eliminate financial barriers and to provide financial resources to any breast cancer patient with true financial needs for treatment and surgery.”  That is Awesome!
