Spring is here and cleaning projects are in full effect.  I’ve already started going through our closets and purging. I’ve even been working on organizing my closet…shocker!  Our next family project involves the kids.  It’s time to gather up all those broken toys. Time to recycle with the #LessWasteChallenge

Toms of Maine is encouraging all of us to reduce waste by pledging to get rid of one pound of waste, per week, for a year.

Now, I’ll be honest, I’m not the greatest when it comes to recycling pledges, but Toms of Maine is making it easy for me and my family to focus on reducing waste,  by paying for us to ship our broken toys back to them for recycling. That’s right! They’re covering the shipping.

It All Starts With Just One Box

Recycle Old Toys The Easy Way

Come on! I want you to participate in this challenge with us and we can take it one step at a time.  Let’s start with your kids broken toys.  I want you to go on the Toms of Maine website here and get your free shipping label.  Find a nice sized empty cardboard box. Have your kids start going through their toys looking for any broken stuff.   Take all of those broken items, fill up your box with up to 10 pounds of toys, slap on your label and mail it off via UPS for free.  You’ll never have to see that stuff again ( well maybe you will when it’s reincarnated as a storage tote) and you’ll be doing something great for the planet.  Plus, this will take care of 10 weeks of your less waste pledge.

Ok so let’s go Stars, let’s tackle 10 weeks of reducing waste by filling up 1 box with all of your kids broken toys! Grab your label and let’s get to UPS with those boxes!
