Q&A With Nashonta McDowell, Owner of Kiia Bath and Body So go ahead and introduce yourself to our readers. What is your role/title and how long have you been in business? Hi, my name is Nashonta McDowell and I’m the owner/founder of Kiia Bath & Body. I have been in business since 2009. What motivated you or inspired you to start your business? I have always wanted to start my own business since I was in high school.I originally wanted to be known has the TJ Maxx of the bath and body business and sell other peoples products but found it very difficult to purchase products because I did not have a physical store. So in 2009 while still working at my job a light bulb went off and I decided to start making my own products.I researched formulas, ingredients and supplies and made my first product which was a Body Butter and they have been a top seller since then. What is it about your products that sets you apart from your competition? What sets me apart is my products are very affordable compared to other products in the market place and I also offer local delivery. What do you feel are some of your biggest challenges as an entrepreneur? My biggest challenge has been growing my business in a very competitive market. What piece of advice, that you wish someone had given to you, would you give to anyone looking to start their own business today? The best advice I have is to price your product according to what it is worth. I did not do that at the beginning. I was trying to compete in a big market but I was selling myself short and not making a profit at the end of the day. I want to thank Nashonta for taking the time to share her insight with us. But wait! We’re not done. Kiia Bath and Body wants to offer an exclusive deal to you just for being the star that you are and a reader of Naturally Stellar.
