In order to stay up to the standard of style that I prefer from Target stores, I’ve learned not to box myself in by strictly shopping the Target maternity section.  Nope!  Not only do I find the options a bit limited there, but a lot of what I find just isn’t up to par with the non-maternity sized Spring/Summer options available in the other sections.

So Stars, I decided to show you some styles that will allow you to skip the maternity section altogether so you can score some sweet finds that may otherwise get overlooked.

This season there are many pieces that are loose, flowy and semi-sheer.   You can find a great selection of funky and forgiving Palazzo Pants, Maxi Dresses, Crop tops (if you’re daring enough to show off your sexy bump), jackets and button up blouses to compliment your maternity wardrobes.

My Target Style – Spring Maternity Tips

  • Just Go Up A Size or 2.  Browse larger size selections in the Women’s and Juniors departments.  While the clearance racks will continue to be my best friends, it really does pay to seek out styles that you like and just go up a size or 2, if you can.
  • A-line Dresses are not only IN this season, but they allow room for your growing belly and bust, while camouflaging other areas you may not want to reveal.   If you have a special occasion coming up like Easter, Weddings, Bridal Showers etc.  you may want to opt for a cute little dress to show off that new preggo beauty.
  • Palazzo Pants have made a killer comeback. With lots of prints and fabrics to choose from, you can’t go wrong.  What makes these pants so great is the large and comfortable waistbands and long lengths made to suit longer leggie preggies.
  • Button up blouses are perfect for pairing with leggings, skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans.  Target has styles in chambray, color blocking, spring plaids and pastels.  By going up a size or 2, they’re roomy enough to accommodate you during pregnancy and can still be worn postpartum.
  • Color is your friend.  Pastels, florals, bright pigments and funky patterns are on trend.  Try some pieces with Stripes, Tribal print and soft plaid. Think about pairing a solid top with a gorgeous patterned bottom or stay neutral with black & white and add a bright pop of color with your accessories & lip color.

Here are a few picks of pieces that I have added to my fashion arsenal this season.   Each of these pieces have a comfortable fit and really complement my changing body.

Don’t forget your feet.  For those of us in our 2nd and 3rd trimesters, comfortable shoes are a MUST.  If you wanna stay stylish without swollen ankles, there are lots of options to keep your feet looking fly this Spring.  Opt for a comfy sneaker or sandals that allow your feet to breathe.  Instead of heavily strappy choices, try to go for something simple like a pair of Merona or Sam & Libby flats.  This pair of Betsyville flats below is another option if you’re looking for something a little more edgy.
