So remember that time last week when I found out I was pregnant? No?  Wait.  I didn’t tell you?

Guess Who's Having A Baby-

Yes, I am officially preggers!!! We’re having a baby and this will be my 2nd.   I have to admit I am happy but equally nervous and worried all at the same time.   I’m just a mixed bag of emotions right now.

When you have your first baby, you don’t really know what to expect.   I mean you are bombarded with information from friends, family, books and now the internet.  But it isn’t until that little person is actually born, that you really learn, that you can’t possibly plan or attempt to know everything.   Each child is different, so there are so many things that can creep up unexpectedly.

Now I know exactly how expensive kids really are and I know that family plans can quickly change, so although I’m happy, my mind has switched to mommy mode with the quickness.   There’s so much to do, beginning with finding a good OB.   Since I moved to Nashville, I haven’t really taken the time to find a gyno yet and now I’m in a crunch to find an OB/GYN attached to the best birthing hospital.    I don’t have the best insurance in the world so I have to weigh through the sea of providers that will accept it without sacrificing my quality of care.  That’s my first priority.

So far health-wise I’m doing fine.  My only symptoms I’m having are excessive fatigue/sleepiness and hunger.   I don’t know if the hunger is heightened or not because I already love to eat…like all the time 🙂  but I have been eating a lot.  In fact, I’m hungry right now as I type.  The sleepiness is a bit of a problem though.  One week I slept straight through every morning until about 2:30 in the afternoon.  Each day I would get up and put my son on the bus, then I would be zonked out until it’s almost time to get him off the bus at the end of the day.    Even when I’m awake, I get a cool 3 or 4 hours where I’m fully present. After that,  I start feeling like I’m sleep walking.    I didn’t quite experience this so strongly with my first, so I’m hoping that it will wear off soon and I can sort of regulate into a new normal.

So my goals for the week are simple.  I need to:

  • Find a good OB/GYN
  • Keep taking my prenatal vitamins
  • Start my Preggo exercises
  • Do something with my hair (don’t ask – I look like Miss Celie right now)

Until my next preggo update!

    Congratulations on your second pregnancy!

It is exciting and a privilege to carry a child – minus the morning sickness!

Count your blessings that your appetite has increased. I hardly ate the first few months.

Congrats C!!! I’m hoping for a girl so I can give you a buttload of stuff (at least stuff I haven’t sold or given away) And I used a midwife and they were connected with Vanderbilt. I LOVED having a midwife and used them both times. And trust me they are there the ENTIRE time during delivery and not just “to catch” the baby. But def weigh your options and good luck finding a new baby doctor! <3

I am gonna check out the midwives so I can see what my options are. I don’t know if I’m brave enough to say I can go totally without drugs, but it’s still worth looking into. Thanks so much, oh and if I have a girl, donate away!!
