Um...No Thanks

Welp! today is back to school and back to reality day for my 6-year-old.  I could tell he was nervous about going back, even though his dad and I went up to the school to meet his teacher and see his new classroom the day before.  Everything seemed fine until bedtime. That’s when we had to have Umteen trips to the bathroom, extra snuggle times because “I can’t sleep” or “I’m nervous”.  After calming him down and giving him 1000 kisses, some soothing little back rubs and a few threats he finally went to sleep….at 10:30 :/  Mind you, he was in the bed shortly after 8.

Homeboy thought he was going to have a perpetual summer, but boy did I fool his butt this morning.   He went through the whole spectrum of “Ok, Ok, I’m getting up” to “I’m tired” , “But I don’t wanna go to school!”

Good thing it’s only a half day today.  Reminding him of that at least made him happy before he headed out the door.

I wasn’t really able to snap many pics this morning, due to all the chaos, but I did manage to get a smile out of him right as his bus was turning the corner to come up our street.   Now if only I could get him to leave his security blanket (Lovingly named Ming Ming) in the house in the mornings. But that’s a battle for another day.

Have a good day my little big boy.

My little boy is 6, too and starts school next week. I’m sure he’ll be too nervous and anxious to go to bed early the night before, he’s already asking a lot of questions!

Hey Bernadyn! Yeah I didn’t realize how nervous Saadjah was until he started asking me a lot of questions too. They get so attached to their teachers & friends. But I can tell you he’s doing great now and seems to have adjusted to the new routine.
