This week’s manicure is inspired by one of my favorite childhood candies, the Neapolitan.

Because I wasn’t blessed with a steady hand or mastery of coloring within the lines, I decided to use a little help to get my desired look.  To separate my tips & lower nail beds, I applied Nailene Perfect Tips – French Polish Guides across the curve of my nails, applied 2 coats of color for both the tips & beds & sealed it all with a quick dry top coat after some drying time. I found my nail guides at Walmart for $1.98, but I’m sure most local drug stores & beauty stores carry them as well.  You can also find the Sinful Colors line at your local Target or Walgreen’s for less than $2 a bottle.

Given that this was only my 2nd time using the nail guides and my first try turned out to be a major disaster, I am really pleased with the way it turned out this go round.  Nirvana is a really rich milk chocolate color that will probably be one of my staple colors this fall.  It looks like I’m going to have fun experimenting with more color combinations in the coming weeks.

Until next time, Keep Shining!
